Beyoncé - A Win for the Future of Black History
Black history is really about the future! It's a continuous journey forward, and Beyoncé’s latest achievement is evidence of this momentum.
At the 2025 Grammy Awards, Beyoncé Knowles won Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter, marking her first ever win in this category. This milestone makes her one of only four Black women to receive this honor in the award’s 66-year history.
Beyoncé now joins Natalie Cole (1992), Whitney Houston (1994), and Lauryn Hill (1999) as the only Black women to have won Album of the Year. Her win represents the truly limitless potential for the fair and equal recognition of all people, particularly black people in the United States of America.
On the same night, Beyoncé also became the first Black woman ever to win Best Country Album, a recognition that highlights the evolving nature of country music. While responses to her victory have been both positive and negative, the truth remains that country music itself is deeply connected to Black musical traditions. This win reaffirms the influence of Black spirituals, blues, gospel, and the banjo’s African origins—threads woven into the very fabric of country music long before it was given a name.
Beyond Beyoncé's buzzworthy wins, this year’s Grammy Awards saw several Black artists also making history. Artists like, Alicia Keys, Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown, Tems, and Doechii all took home awards, further solidifying the impact of Black artistry & impact across genres. Their victories are a reminder that Black excellence continues to thrive in every space, including music and beyond.
Hidden Lessons:
How Beyoncé, The Grammys, & Black History Month are Lighting the Way for Us
Black History is about the Future
Beyoncé’s journey shows us that history is still being written. Awakening the past and stepping into unchartered territory, each step forward adds to Black Culture's Rich and deserving History. This win now marks the first ever Best Country Album Grammy win for a Black Woman - and also makes Beyonce only the fourth Black woman to have won Album of the Year since the Grammy Awards began in 1959. That's about 6% of all winners in almost 70 years!
Lesson: Moments like this remind us that Black history is not just about looking back—it’s about shaping what’s next. Beyoncé’s presence in country music not only honors the past but also expands possibilities for the future.
Tools: Unlock the power of the imagination. When you unlock your imagination, you allow yourself to envision a future that you've never experienced before. That limitless ability to dream, ultimately programs our brain, emotions and actions to take forward movement toward the unknown. Always remember to keep your imagination wide open to endless possibilities. Try it now: imagine your future self, looking back to you now. What contributions would you love to see that you've made to this world today? (no matter how out-of-this-world it may seem).
Breaking Free from Assigned Stereotypes
Another history-making, Grammy Award Winner, Doechii delivered a powerful statement that will echo throughout the fabric of Black History: “there is some black girl out there, so many black women out there that are watching me right now, and I want to tell you, you can do it. Anything is possible... don't allow anyone to project any stereotypes on you, that tell you that you can't be here or that you're too dark or you're not smart enough. You are exactly who you need to be to be right where you are..”
Lesson: Her words resonate beyond music. Society often assigns labels and limitations to people, dictating where they do or don’t belong. But like Beyoncé, Doechii, and every Black artist rewriting history, we are not bound by expectations set by others.
Tools: Affirm these reminders to yourself every day:
You do not have to fit into a single category to be successful.
You are not limited by outdated definitions of what is or isn’t for you.
Your path is yours alone, and you have every right to walk it unapologetically.
Whatever label has been placed upon you—whether in career, creativity, or life—release it. Step beyond the expectation of others and into your own Divine expansion.
We don't "need" anyone to assign us a special month
Like I mentioned in this Black History Month Instagram Post, we can walk into the vision that our Black Leaders and non-black Allies held in their hearts for us... all day, every day, any time and every time we want!!
WE ARE THE FUTURE PEOPLE THEY FOUGHT FOR.
EVERY NEW DAY IS THE "ONE DAY" THAT THEY DREAMT OF FOR US!
...NOT JUST A MONTH, BUT AN ENTIRE FUTURE OF LOVE, GROWTH, LIMITLESSNESS, AND DIVINE CONNECTION - MIND, BODY & SOUL!! 💕

The Star Treatment: In metaphysics, a "treatment" is a set of healing words spoken to activate Divine Power. These "Healing Words" are for you Beyoncé. May all Grammy winners, the Black Community, and everyone in the world benefit.
Prayer Treatment:
"To Beyoncé and all winners, past, present, and future, may you continue to create from a place of truth and inspiration. May every note you sing and every story you tell uplift and empower. May your journey reflects what it means to follow Divine guidance boldly, without hesitation, without exception. Keep trusting your vision. Keep expanding into new territories. You are creating a legacy that will inspire beyond what can be measured today. May the vision placed in your heart be fully realized, and may your presence continue to open doors for generations to come. You are the future of Black History." Thank you to Beyoncé, The Grammys, & Black History Month as a whole.
Coaching Treatment:
To Beyoncé:
Let this win be your encouragement to keep moving forward. When new doors open, step through them with confidence. When others question your "genre" remember that your purpose is not for others to define. You are here to create, uplift, and expand with Divine graces - you're limitless.
Here's a coaching treatment you can try IF the negativity of the world ever starts to get to in your head. Imagine receiving a letter from The Divine—one that speaks with the mightiness of God ..... limitlessly lifting you to the full image and likeness of the unlimited source of all. It might read something like this:
"My beloved, I see the path you are walking. I placed a vision inside of you that continues to grow and evolve in ways that others simply cannot understand - because the journey is not for them. Do not wait on or rely on their understanding. You already have mine! Keep going. When you step into places where you weren’t expected, know that I have placed your feet there and you are exactly where you were meant to be. The calling I placed on your life is not up for debate by any man! Trust in me. Walk boldly with me coursing through you and all around you. Let your wins be a testament to your unwavering faith in Me. Love God/Universe/Source/Divine.
This was just a sample. Now, it's your turn. Take a moment to write your own Letter from the Divine. Go big, don't hold back - God wouldn't!! Envision your highest self receiving these words, knowing that they are rooted in truth and purpose. Write your own "letter from Divine." Write this letter to include this epic Grammy win and it's implications for the "Future of Black History" - and know that although it is a make-believe letter - the words are based in Divine Truth of what you came here to do.
